The Fashion Diva

On Saturday, August 22 I went to the mall late that evening just to browse around. I was walking past Guess and I thought to myself why don't I just go in and see what new arrivals Guess had. As I was walking into Guess I passed a young female probably around her early twenties with an outfit that I thought was so cute and well put together. This girl had on skinny dark blue jeans, with a red and black plaid shirt with a black belt cinched at the waist. When I looked down at her feet she had on cute black 5 inch peep toe platforms on that had buttons on the side and were strapped. Yes, they were absolutely too cute. She accessorized her outfit with gold dangling earrings with a long but simple gold necklace and a big thick gold bracelet on one hand and a couple of thin bangles on the other. She was very cute and she was your typical "Fashion Diva". Her shoes you can say is one of the trends for this year. You can catch them at pretty much every popular shoe store. The style that is. Her make-up was fierce and she had a her hair down with side bangs in the front. She was dressed to impress. She was very casual but yet chic. So to all my "Fashion Divas" keep doing your thing, because trust me you are being noticed.

What Not To Wear!!

So I know when you are a mom your life changes, but I would think that your fashion sense would change too! I went the mall this past weekend and I was just browsing around with some of my friends. I know people are different and when they go to the mall that people will dress a certain way. In this case I saw an older women, maybe around her early forties or so wearing tight shorts, a tank top and flip flops. Now I know if it was a woman in her forties that maybe had the body for that kind of outfit its ok, and I also know its the summer, but seriously though. Like i said the shorts were too tight and the tank was not her size as well. This particular woman was going into Forever 21 with her teen daughter. Her daughter now was just in a regular pair of jeans and t-shirt with flip flops. You could tell that she was annoyed with her mother because her mom was picking out everything for her. She had a lot of shorts, skirts, dresses and tanks that she wanted her daughter to try on. I heard her daughter made a comment saying " I'm not like you, I don't wear this kind of stuff". Right there and then I knew her mother was trying to change her into looking more girly and a lot more like her. Her mom is not the greatest example of what to wear and what not to wear!

Class Assignment

So we were suppose to go to an event in Charlotte, N.C , but unfortunately I could not find anything I guess you can say that I actually wanted to go to. I also was not finding anything to do with make-up or just cosmetics or skincare period. So I found my self researching online for events outside of Charlotte. I saw that there was like a Bare Esentuals trunk show I guess you can say. The event was called “The National Make-up Artist Event”. I have seen the infomercials on this beauty care and how it is so light and you really can’t tell that you have make-up on. When I looked it up it was going to be in Greenville, S.C. I really had to think about if I wanted to drive all the way out there. It was on a Saturday at Haywood Mall at around 12p.m. I did decide that I was going to go out there and see what this was about. Now I’ve never been so far into South Carolina, so I had my best friend come with me. When we finally go there around 11:45 a.m they were just setting up their stand and all there extra stuff. Many women were actually around and waiting to see what the make-up artists were going to talk about.

I just sat back and observed and took everything in. They really where just talking about their products and how it is a lot healthier for your skin. Their main product is their revolutionary foundation called bareMinerals®. This extraordinary beauty innovation is composed of 100% pure bareMinerals with no additives and zero irritants whatsoever. Bare Escentuals 2009 National Makeup Artist Events promise to help create your signature beauty, so you can walk away feeling confident that you have all the right tools, tips and techniques to keep your complexion fresh, healthy and radiant all year long.

My thought on this event was that it was very organized, the make-up artists answered women’s questions thoroughly and effectively. If you want to go for that natural look, then “BARE” is for you!

Michelle Obama’s Fashion Sense

In the past weekend Michelle Obama went to the Grand Canyon with her family. It was just a regular outing to Arizona. It’s hot in Arizona and the sun is baring down on you so what is the big deal that the “First Lady” is wearing shorts. Because of the fact that is non-traditional and that it is something that the people would not think that the first lady would wear?

The media had so much to say when we first saw Michelle on the day of the inaugural, whether she was wearing a suit that reminded you of upholstery or a suit that was chic and showing a different look that was going into the White House.

We can all see that Michelle’s sense of fashion is very non-traditional and what you would have not seen the other first ladies to wear. She wears what is comfortable to her and dresses for the occasion, like a regular person would.

After reading the comments and reviews I do not agree with what the media is saying. She implements a “New First Lady” a new age. Just because she is the first lady why should we as people criticize her on what she wear’s. Yes, we know that she needs to dress a certain way but who says she has to wear a formal outfit “everywhere” she goes?

In my opinion I see nothing wrong with Michelle Obama's fashion. She looks good in what she wears as well as comfortable. She should be able to go to any outing and be able to wear what she wants. Her clothes does not make her the woman that she is, her mind does.
